Pellets manufacturing process in pharmaceutical API

Pellets manufacturing process in pharmaceutical API
    6th January 2017

  • Pellets are small barrels shaped pressed bodies. The raw material is made up of residuary wood such as wood shavings and sawmill residuals left in their natural state. Typical wood pellet manufacturers are large saw and planing mills where the raw material is produced as a by-product and where synergies are thus created in the production cycle.
  • Pellets manufacturing process after preparation of the raw material it is conveyed by an borer to the presses. Special rollers, press the material through the holes of the flat bed matrix. The hot pellets are cut to the specified length and cooled with ambient air. Wood consists mainly of the illorum lignin and cellulose. As a result of the pressure during the pressing process, the lignin becomes adhesive and encases the cellulose fibres. By this means pelletization is possible without the addition of binding materials.
  • The polishing resistance of the pellets is provided by the addition of press additives such as starch and flour. This natural-state admixture is allowable up to a percentage of 2%. As a rule however no more than 0.5% press admixture is actually added.

API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) manufacturing requires that special attention be paid to processing equipment design, hygiene and safety.

Pellet processing is accomplished with several of our products, including the Axial, cone, Radial, Die roller, mixer cum extruder, basket models.

Umang Pharmatech® advanced pellet technology and superior engineering provide unparalleled processing efficiency exceptional product quality

Successfully scaling up to full production means replicating your pilot results. How do you do this? The key is to use lab milling equipment that exactly

Particle size is a critical parameter in material properties. Monitoring and measurement of grain size distribution during processing is critical to successful product.

A Fully integrated Continuous drug pelletization system consisting Extruder (Axial | Cone | Dome | Radial | Die Roller | Basket extruder etc.) with twin bucket weight assembly

The operation is carried out using a Drug layering rotating plate, Dry powder dusted on nonpareils adheres, increasing their size and forming larger pellets. As per requirements.

Continuous Tray Dryer Designed for continuous & rapid drying process. Tray Drying is certainly one of the most energy-intensive operations in industries, and as most dryers operate

Mini - Lab is a table-top fluid bed for laboratory use, sized for product volumes from 100 ml to 700ml. It is ideal for handling fine powders, pellets, granules, crystals and also tablets.

Hot Melt Extrusion is the upgraded version of Twin screw Extruder with heating as an element, the whole process involves hopper for feeding the raw material
